Round Hill Elementary School is hoping to build a new tradition with its students through the Balloons over Broadway Parade.
Fourth-grade students filled the hallways with different colored balloons, all covered in unique designs they crafted.

“Being new to Round Hill, I wanted to come in with some fun, new ideas to allow for collaboration among the school and among grade levels,” Ms. Carvo said.
“We started by doing an interactive read aloud about the true story of the puppeteer behind the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We watched clips of the parade for inspiration and then brainstormed ideas.”
Although fourth grade led the parade this year, they hope to expand it to other grades next year and make it a bigger event.
“It was an exciting event and hopefully the start of a new tradition at Round Hill,” Ms. Carvo said.
