Dear Kindergarten Families,

As the first day of Kindergarten is quickly approaching, we are sure you are excited and a bit nervous about sending your child to school. We are looking forward to meeting your child and beginning your child’s school journey with you.

This year, Kindergarten Orientation will be held over four sessions. Each session will consist of three of our kindergarten classes. You will receive a detailed schedule of your assigned session as soon as we finalize registration and class rosters.

The sessions will be as follows:

Session 1: Monday, August 30 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm
(Mrs. Kodilanen, Mrs. Williams & Ms. White, Mrs. Brennan & Mrs. Sessa)

Session 2: Monday, August 30 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
(Mrs. Loupe, Mrs. Porcaro, Mrs. Schiraldi)

Session 3: Tuesday, August 31 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm
(Mrs. Beers, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Benincasa)

Session 4: Tuesday, August 31 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
(Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Graf, Mrs. Coppola and Mrs. Reid)

The orientation will begin in the cafeteria at Round Hill. Students may be accompanied by no more than two parents/guardians. Masks will be required for both parents and students. Due to the number of families that will be in attendance, siblings are not permitted to attend.

During the orientation, I will share with you the importance of attendance, curriculum standards that your child will be working hard to master, activities you can do at home to prepare your child for Kindergarten, as well as tips in helping your child be successful throughout their Kindergarten year. Our goal is to inform you of the expectations and procedures to help your child transition smoothly into Kindergarten.

While I am meeting with parents/guardians, the teachers will take their students for a tour of their classroom and engage in some fun activities to get them acclimated to their new classroom and teacher.  You will be reunited with your child after the parent orientation.

The first day of school for Kindergarten students is Wednesday, September 1st.

We look forward to meeting you during orientation.

Yours truly,
Steve Kiel
